Are you a morning person?

As much as I wish I was, I am not. A few months ago, some friends asked me to tag along on a sunrise photo shoot at Haena beach and my immediate question was- what time do we leave? Of course, we had to leave around 4:30 a.m. to make it to the north shore of Kauai by sunrise which was approximately 6:00 a.m.

The drive was dark and long but having good company and coffee definitely helped!

The sun rose slowly and started off with tinges of pink and blue. The sky was this majestic canvas that brightened by the minute into shades of blue, pink, yellow and lavender. Whenever I see a display of nature like this, it reminds me that God is the ultimate artist and the earth is his canvas. What amazes me even more is that he does it for us- to bring our attention to his glory and majesty.

The early start was definitely worth it and is further proof that amazing things don’t come easily. There’s often a price to pay, but in the end it’s always worth it.
