5 FUN QUARANTINE PROOF ACTIVITIES

  1. PAINT/SKETCH

This one is the most simple but underrated. There is so much that you can do with your kids art supplies. One thing I try to stock up on is paint and sketch pads. Whenever I see art supplies on sale I grab them and they come in handy for times like this!

Even if just drawing with pastels or colored pencils, be sure to join along with your kid. If the weather permits try sitting outdoors on the patio or porch which you draw/doodle/sketch. It’s a great way to relax and enjoy some quality family time.

  1. MAKE A TIK TOK VIDEO

I know this one can be controversial these days but if you’re up for it, try doing a tik tok video with your kid. I have a private account with my son and sometimes we will just record some interesting scenery and add some music to it. It’s very fun and adds some “cool mom” points- especially if your child is older.

  1. DIY SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS

My son’s school provided some STEM activities to do during this time which included some simple experiments. We had a blast the other day doing an upside down water cup experiment which can easily be found on Youtube. I’ll add the link below. It’s very simple and can add some fun and wonder to your day!

  1. SLIME

This is another one that some parents don’t like. I’ll admit I’m not crazy about it either but somehow slime is still in! One non toxic version that we tried was with cornstarch and hair conditioner. It made a more play dough like substance but was pretty sturdy and fun to play with. Pinterest is full of recipes that cater to all preferences.

  1. PHOTOGRAPHY

I’ll admit, we came upon this one by accident. Lately we’ve been watching some TIK TOK videos of creative photography that my son is really enjoying. We were taking pictures on Easter last Sunday and my son volunteered to edit a photo. Somehow that led to us trying some of the cool methods we’ve been seeing on social media and had a blast. I’ll add a photo that we came up with- which I think came out really neat!

The most important thing is to have fun and treasure this quality time. As a full time single mom, I never imagined that I would have the opportunity to homeschool my son. Although the circumstances could be better, I think it’s important to make the best of it and use this time to do activities that we normally don’t have time for. Enjoy and please share your favorite activities in the comments 🙂
